I’m an interior design student bringing a decade of experience in creative direction, production, and project delivery. My career began behind the camera, working as a fashion photographer for brands like Sol Sana, Pared Eyewear, Jina-Jina, Re/lax Remade, St Frock and Volvo. My work has been featured in publications like Vogue Australia, One and Moss Magazine. Originally from Sweden, I have lived in Australia for the better part of 14 years and am now a citizen with full working rights.
My shift toward interior design happened organically as my photography work brought me into commercial and architectural spaces. While on set, I frequently found my focus pulling away from the lens and toward the environment itself. I wanted to understand the materials, the process and the core inspiration behind the architecture. That curiosity prompted me to expand my creative practice from capturing spaces to actively shaping them.
I am currently completing my Diploma in Interior Design at Sydney Design School. Drawing on my established communication skills and creative eye, I am developing strong technical capabilities in spatial planning, concept development and interior documentation. My recent coursework includes a Vivienne Westwood retail project that showcases my evolving design sensibilities and software skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Enscape. Moving forward, I have a particular interest in focusing on retail and hospitality design.

I love connecting with others, so please reach out if you would like to grab a coffee. I’m always up to chat about design and I’m excited to learn from others in any way I can.
All the best,
Micaela Mandorff
